Simonson/Hughes Newborn Session
I’ve known Amy for almost seven years now. We were in grad school together, and when I moved back to Iowa City, I was so excited to reconnect with her! She is a phenomenal artist, teacher, and friend. Since last August, we’ve been collaborating on a new dance project, which I’ve dubbed “The Motherload,” which looks at the intersection of motherhood and creativity in the body. A few weeks into our work together, Amy found out she was pregnant with her first born!
Working together each week and adapting the work to her changing body and evolving relationship with her unborn baby was so meaningful. I cannot wait to go back to the work with her when the timing is right.
