Dance Photos with Katie

Sometimes, I’m in the middle of a shoot, and I just know that we’re onto something really good. Some of it (maybe a lot of it) is luck. But there’s also an x-factor— the person I’m working with can relate to the camera, they have an innate understanding of the pacing that will work. In this case, I think part of it is that Katie is, in her own right, a skilled filmmaker, and really knowledgable about framing the dancing body in a lens. But whatever the factors or conditions, I am so excited to share these. We shot these to add to a collection of promotional photos for the UI Department of Dance. There are a lot more, but these are some of my favorites.
